With the new Supra Society gaining momentum in the skate/sneaker community, the Terry Kennedy signature kicks see another release in new additional colorways. Keeping in tune with the perforated leather option, Supra unveils a tonal red color scheme alongside a pace-changing, sleek grey patent leather selection. Both colorways will see a stateside roll-out soon, although they are now available through Limited Edt.

Do Not Be Discouraged
Umbrellas Withstand RIDICULOUS Conditions
The award-winning SENZ storm umbrella may look unusual, but apparently it’s how umbrellas should look. The umbrella’s angular design makes for a durable and weatherproof design that can withstand winds up to 70 mph (1oo kph).
I’ve experienced having my umbrella turned inside out so many times and I thought that short of being carried away by the wind, the turning-inside-out phenomenon was the thing that umbrella makers should be working on. I was wrong. Apparently they should also think about the needs of people who like to skydive with their umbrellas.
Seriously though, this is one tough umbrella. Unfortunately, a lot of people who really do experience strong winds and rains - like us Filipinos - won’t be able to afford the SENZ. The collapsible mini version sells for €40 (Appx. $55 USD), the regular-sized version sells for €50 ($69 USD) while the XL SENZ is €60 ($83 USD). SENZless prices if you ask me.
You can order a SENZ umbrella at the SENZ webshop. You rich bastard. Kidding. Buy me one please?
Sexy, Sexy...NOT....But it's still HOT

Boom Boom Pow
Damn… these joints are higher than us after lunch break.
If you’ve done yourself a favor and copped a pair of Supra Skytops, Vaiders, Supranos, Diablos or Cruizers, then you already know about the supreme comfort, bullet-proof durability and infinite styles which they provide so well. And if you’re a dedicated student of the concrete, permanently attached to that deck of yours, then you’re also well-aware that Supra has been absolutely murdering the skate footwear game for years now - with a roster to prove it. Few companies can boast a team with such heralded names like Tom Penny, Chad Muska, Antwuan Dixon, Erik Ellington, Furby Salcedo and the god Jim Greco since the best tend to roll with the best. Now Supra’s latest addition, Terry Kennedy, gets his first signature shoe and it may be the most sought-after gem yet.
Granted, we have yet to measure the TK’s and some Yeezy’s back-to-back, but the Societys already make the Skytops look like Oompa-Loompas. And oompa-loompa loopity-like the Skytops, TK’s signatures also claim the same smooth leather or uber-soft suede panels offered with the aforementioned, reinforced toes for gripping them decks (yes, damnit, you can skate these) and, of course, the looks to kill. Unlike the Yeezys, however, you won’t appear to be a Marty McFly-wannabe, bandwagoning douchebag who spent a couple nights camped outside some boutique to pay a month’s-worth of rent, utilities and a cell-phone bill for nothing but a set of Nike’s with Creative Recreation straps (just jokes, kids, just jokes)…
Get a cl***r look at The TK Society Sneaker at Karmaloop here, and be sure to check out the madness that ensued throughout Supra’s tour from Los Angeles to Brooklyn in support of the Society’s release. Gotta love these dudes! … and stay tuned for the new Dixon signature models! Lows for all of you that love to get down!

I'm a Bee!! (The Biggest one at that)
Check out this new song from the Black Eyed Peas’ . It’s been almost five years since their last album came out. In that time, Fergie has had 3 solo number one hits and sold millions of records as a solo artist, while Will.I.Am has gone on to produce songs for everyone from the Pussycat Dolls to Celine Dion so it makes sense that their new album has been delayed. Their highly anticipated new album The E.N.D. hits stores later this summer.

Sometimes to Get to the Next Level
Dan Luvisi Digital Artist
His imagination does not end with the art itself. Dan LuVisi is quickly building a reputation for his story ideas within the community and has written more than half a dozen scripts and treatments, some of which Hollywood producers have taken notice of and leaving grounds for hope to see some of his characters appear on screen in the near future.

Ayyy YO! Dude Is COLD
Lazarus Rising, Ron English |
Could you tell us a bit about your new exhibition, and it's relation to resurrection? Is this a concept you believe in, spiritually?
The underlying theme of Lazarus Rising is resurrection and the ongoing dialog between the living and the dead. It is also a study of the current spiritual and creative phoenix that is not only rising out of but also deeply rooted in the cultural ashes of our artistic ancestors in the mythical gold - and landmines lurking beneath society's surface. It is a concept I believe in, intellectually and spiritually. Just because you imagine something, doesn't mean it's not real.
East West Guernica, Ron English |
I don't know if it's because I have a deep appreciation of Picasso or it's just the arrogance of the living, but I do have a very intense and sustained obsession with Picasso's Guernica.
American Mascots, Ron English |
Probably Ronald McDonald. We are the same age and share the same first name. I also think it's odd that the mascot of this huge corporation is a clown. For me, Ronald is a kind of corporate franchise Christ. The Catholic church was the first franchise, with Jesus as its mascot. Ronald is the second coming.
Do you still hijack billboards? Can we look forward to any in London?
Yes, but I don't typically tell people when and where I am doing them.
Abraham Obama, Ron English |
It feels good to have a smart president.
Kiss The Bride, Ron English |
I have two museum shows coming up in the next couple of years. I will probably borrow about half the work for the shows and create new large-scale paintings for the other half. I'm also doing a series of installations in galleries in South Korea, China and the American Midwest. And I have some of the best toys I've ever made coming out this fall, along with t-shirt collabs with Planet Illogica and Hurley, and sneakers with Etnies.
Ron's exhibition, Lazarus Rising, will be on show at the Elms Lester Painting Rooms from 8 May until 6 June. More info at www.elmslesters.co.uk
A limited edition book has been printed by the gallery to accompany the exhibition. Ron English will be in the gallery 12 - 2pm on 9 May to sign copies of the book.
