*Interview* The Ten Finger Orchestra

A lot of people believe that music comes strictly from getting a beat together by using various forms of production software, but this group has found another way to bring flavor to New Orleans. Check out the Interview with The Ten Finger Orchestra.

Tae:
Tell me about The Ten Finger Orchestra.

TFO:
We are a group of up & coming artist of different genres of music and backgrounds who came together through a mutual producer, the conductor, T-Black. Everyone has their own flavor and brings something different to the table but we make a good Thanksgiving dinner when we combine like home cooked soul food pleasing every taste bud but still leaving you wanting seconds. A few members in the group are Hollidae, Codac, Ced all on the lead single “You Wanna Be Like Me” video on YouTube.

Tae:
What got you into music and production work?

TFO:
Music and just seeing people doing something fun and expressing themselves. Different people around me doing it and sparked an interest. Started off just for fun and it grew from there.

Tae:
Who would you say influenced you the most musically?

TFO:
Everybody from Run DMC, NWA to Jay Z, Ludacris to Dr Dre, Timbaland to Mannie Fresh. Seeing those local people in our faces like NO Limit and Cash Money grow from nothing to Power Houses.

Tae:
How would you describe your music?

TFO:
Original. Classic. You have got to give us one listen to feel it. It’s what the hip hop heads want, the club heads like and the thinker’s fiend for. Frankly it’s just good music.

Tae:
What makes you stand out from other New Orleans artists?

TFO:
First off nobody can duplicate sound of the production, I mean nobody! T-Black is a producer not a beat maker. He really plays the instruments you hear. You can feel the New Orleans bounce, vibe with that New Orleans Jazz and hear the arrangement that’s like no other. Every artist is them. No follow the leader in this camp. Don’t get us confused though, we are New Orleans. We’re just trying to take it to a level where it hasn’t been before.

Tae:
What upcoming projects are you working on?

TFO:
Individually everyone is in the lab working on various mix tapes and albums. Codac, G. Miller and Hollidae all have mix tapes prior to this and music on iTunes. As a collective we are putting the finishing touches on the album and putting in the footwork to build our fan base. You can’t have a building without a foundation. We need support of our fans to keep this music coming.

Tae:
How can people get in touch with you?

TFO:
You can find us at many of the clubs in N.O performing (Red Velvet, NV, Industry Influence) and we can be found on MySpace at www.myspace.com/tblack504 and Twitter at www.twitter.com/daorchestra

Tae:
Thank you so much for your time, is there anything you would like to add?

TFO:
We also have music available on iTunes or where ever you download your music and you can TEXT 10FINGER TO 69937 to get our ringtone.
